Wynne Rae

The Wynne Rae is back! We were so happy to return to one of our favorite places. As soon as we walked in the door, we felt at home again. Very thankful to the Sheldon's for their generosity and kindness. Everything was wonderful!

Great house and amazing space! Great for two smaller families and perfect location. We have stayed a few places on Elbow and liked this the best. Great dock, the best view, and wonderful open space inside. We cooked most dinners inside and had everything you would need. Only wish our stay was longer. Until next time

What a beautiful home Wynne Rae was. The location is perfect to access any destination on the island. The view was exceptional! The house itself was virtually turnkey ready including linens, kitchen supplies and everything except your food and beverages. We loved the two refrigerators, the washer and dryer and the full assortment of quality appliances. The AC was wonderful!! Our party of 6, 3 couples, had plenty of space, nice bedrooms and great gathering areas for dining in and games, etc.

The house was oceanfront, great location, clean, kitchen was extra well equipoed! Wonderful house!

Ideal location- fairly centrally located just south of village, beach front (facing easterly breeze) but with private dock on harbor side at the base of driveway. Great, easy, open layout with everything you need- can't imagine a better house for it's size.
Two minor possible negs to be aware of: 1) Driveway long and very steep. Pavers with curbs barely wider than golf cart tires. Our cart company understandably didn't want us driving up. Cart wanted no more than 2 adults going up and I def wouldn't try a loaded cart going down. We just used it to run coolers/groceries/luggage up & down. Elderly etc may have an issue. 2) Bathroom situation. Of course 1 bath in master leaving everyone else to fight over 2nd. Easy remedy in my mind would be to add (or relocate from under deck) an outdoor shower with open air privacy enclosure to upper deck- I'd prob never go back inside for a shower.
Just an epic vacation- We'll be back!

We spent 2 weeks in July 2023 at the Wynne Rae house and we loved the house! We traveled with another couple who we travel with often and have rented several houses with over the years and by far, this house was our favorite. We enjoy cooking and had had dinner in almost every night. The house had an incredibly well equipped kitchen which played a large part in some fabulous meals we prepared. The house was very comfortable and had incredible views of and access to the Atlantic. Another reason we picked this house was the standby generator, which had to kick on several times while we where there. We came over on our 30 foot boat and having the dock was another reason for choosing this house, and the boat was safe and secure on Nigh Creek. The house sits on a very steep bluff and the path that leads up to the house is too steep for a rental golf cart to make it up the hill. I mention this for future renters like us who come over on their own boats and may have a fair bit of gear to haul up to the house. I would suggest that you make arrangements to have someone with an ATV with enough power to make it up the hill to meet you upon arrival to haul your gear up the hill. Just a suggestion because I wish I had done that! Overall I would recommend the Wynne Rae house without any hesitation!

Location was perfect! Stunning views of the ocean from the home and deck. Close to town but private. Private dock for rental boat and easy to navigate. We were the only ones on the beach which had good snorkeling reefs. The a/c worked very well as did all the appliances. The diesel generator worked well as the island didn't have power for several days. Well stocked home and kitchen, very comfortable and spacious

The views from the house are spectacular. When you first walk in it takes your breath away. The house had everything you could need and the property management team was the best.

Had a great time @ the Wynne Rae. Wish we were still on vacation

Rented for 3 weeks with another couple. We enjoyed the house, had a few hiccups here and there, but overall we had a great time.

Had another fantastic trip to Hopetown. This was our first stay at Wynne Rae. The location and views were terrific. Everything was in working order and clean. The kitchen was well stocked and I found everything I needed..

The house was well equipped and very roomy and comfortable. It was close to Hope Town and a short golf cart ride to the marina where we kept our boat. The owner reached out to us through email to introduce themselves and wanted to make sure we had what we needed for our stay. The property manager, Elbow Cay Properties, was very professional and when we needed something they took care of us quickly. I would highly recommend the Wynne Rae house!

Have been visiting Hopetown for many years and always thought Wynne Rae was the ideal location and looked great from the beach. But...until it got the AC was afraid to stay there since we always go in summer. Was sooo happy to see the AC installed a couple of years ago and the stay was as perfect as we expected. Thank you!

This was our 2nd visit to the Wynne Rae and it did not disappoint. We rented a boat and visited Nippers, “Piggy Island”, Pete’s Pub, FireFly and On da Beach. This year we discovered Thirsty Cuda at Tahiti Beach. Did not get to go on fish charter but found a great fish market. Great time. Highly recommend!

The location was great. Steps to the beach. Sunrise each morning. Climb the building in the yard for the sunset. The breeze off the ocean was perfect to keep the bugs away.

It was all great.

Relaxing on the Atlantic

This was our second year staying at the Wynee Rae. The home & grounds are just perfect; views from deck and house are the best around. Our group of six (kids included) were there for a week and the house set-up leaves plenty of space for all with privacy. The beach was well utilized by us this year. Great snorkeling right off the reef in front of house. Pristine waters and perfect sand for shell/sea glass hunting. In four hours on beach, maybe saw 6 other people walk by. Quick walk to On Da Beach for great kabobs and cocktails. Firefly is another beautiful close-by spot for sunsets and dinner. The house is well stocked and maintained. Very close to town and if you rent a boat, the Nigh Creek is just across street of house, so it makes for a simple docking experience. Golf carts are a plus to rent (do it early in your planning) but not necessary due to central location of house. If there was anything that I could suggest it would be to have actual beach chairs at house (although you could rent them locally). In all, this house is an absolutely wonderful place to vacation and we can't wait to return next year. Thank you to the owners and property managers for maintaining this home so well!

It was an absolute fabulous place to stay! It had the best of both worlds for us, an ocean view and right on the beach, which my wife loved and a boat dock behind the house in the back of the harbor that I loved! I would rate it a 9. Great place to stay and I can see us staying there again!
